Weight loss and fitness is such a funny thing. You think you’re doing great and – BAM – the scale is up two pounds then you go on a late night doughnut eating binge and – WHOOSH – you have miraculously lost 3 pounds overnight on the Krispy Kreme diet. 😉
My problem right now is my period; I managed to be five days late this go around so I’m still sitting around with my fingers crossed for my water retention to release. I’ve also been eating almost nothing but broccoli salad for three days so I’m sure there’s some other weight sitting around in there too… 😮
I’ve also started to notice some other changes not related to numbers on a scale. My confidence is up, I have more muscle definition and even though my weight has not changed much I am still losing inches and my clothes are fitting better (and I’m able to fit into a smaller size now than I previously would have at this weight). As much as my husband would just LOVE to say “I told you so”, he doesn’t read my blog so he won’t know that I give the credit to finally caving in to him pressuring me into lifting weights. 😉 Not huge weights or a lot of time devoted to it but it IS definitely changing my body for the better.

It’s time to own up to it.
I’ve gained weight.
I’m not talking a pound or two, I’m talking a chunk (no pun intended!). Now, I’m not 100% comfortable giving a number just yet, but I’m working on being more comfortable with imperfection and you can expect a post on it in the near future.
Regardless of why or how I got here, I AM here and I’m ready to turn it back around.
After weeks of self sabotage I decided I needed a way to be held accountable. So I texted my sister. I text my sister all the time when I need to be accountable for food related issues, but this time it was a different kind of accountable – I asked her to do a weight loss challenge with me. She said yes, of course. 😀

Few words about the outfit. These leggings are fantastic – no show through and they come in a bunch of colors and patterns! The workout tank I recommend a size up (I’m wearing a medium). The sports bra is the best sports bra I have ever owned; for you ladies who have a super small band size (I’m looking at you 26 and 28) and a large cup size, the small fits perfect. The tennis shoes, well, they’re tennis shoes, they get the job done. 🙂 Moving on.
No, not your fitness and diet routine went on vacation, but actually maintaining your routine while you are on vacation. I know, ew. But totally worth it, I promise!
Recently, my entire immediate family went on vacation together in the Outer Banks. (You can read that post here.) That included my mom and stepdad, my youngest sister and little brother, my oldest younger sister, her husband and their 11 month old son and us. Whew! What a mouthful (and a houseful)! With so many people in and out and up and about in one house, it was definitely a challenge to stick to my guns, but I did and I am so incredibly proud of myself. For the first time ever I actually maintained my weight on vacation. *huge goofy smile*
