So Much To Be Thankful For…

Things have been rough for me these past two years. Some I’ve talked about openly here and others I have kept hidden from even family and friends. Some things are just incredibly difficult to talk about when you’re in the midst of them and it’s easier (mostly but not really) to keep them to yourself and pretend that everything is fine. But we are no longer “in the midst” and are completely over the moon to be able to say…

That’s right! After two years of trying, including a long journey with fertility doctors and treatment, we FINALLY got pregnant and we could not be more thankful for not only our new little nugget but to our parents for being so supportive through the process and the fertility clinic for their expertise.

I won’t go into too much detail in this post because it’s Thanksgiving – our parents literally JUST found out and we sent out announcements in the mail yesterday to the rest of our friends and family – but I will do a full write up of our fertility journey on the blog in the coming weeks.

Currently, I am 12 weeks along and the last day of my first trimester is tomorrow. (The photos above were taken with our very first ultrasound at 6 weeks so the baby is now bigger than just a little jelly bean and actually looks like a baby now!) This pregnancy is already sooooooo different than my first and I’m so ready to be done with the nausea. My bump is not really popping yet (It wasn’t when I wrote this two weeks ago but NOW it’s a very obvious little bump when I wear certain clothes – I mostly look chunky around my middle but I carried really small with Elias and was told last time that it may just be normal for me to not really carry as big as some women do and that I may naturally just have smaller babies (Elias was born 5 lbs 10.5oz for reference) so we’ll see as far as the bump department goes. Haha.

Again, we are so incredibly thankful to be pregnant and be growing our family a little more and we are immensely grateful for the support we have received from our families.

Happy Thanksgiving!
