recipe roundup

clearly, Elias’ birthday breakfast did NOT make the round up (even though it WAS tasty 🙂 )

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a recipe roundup so let’s go for it. In case you haven’t been around before (or have forgotten since its’ been awhile 😉 ) recipe roundups are just a compilation of all the best recipes I have made in the past month…or three. Whoops!

Breakfast? Yes. Dessert? Yes. Best thing to ever use sliced bread? YES. I made this as part of a special Fathers’ Day breakfast spread and it was a huge hit. Although I find it completely acceptable to eat cake for breakfast (and I do often), this is one of those recipes that makes it 100% acceptable for those of you who have issues with it. 😉
Make it now. Thank me later.

This is my absolute all time favorite pizza recipe. I made it for the first time for Elias’ birthday and it is honestly one of the best things to ever come out of my oven – and those are some big words. Last year in OBX we had a bacon cheeseburger pizza at a local shop and I loved it so much I wanted to try my hand at one. Spoiler alert: mine’s better!

Whoever said doughnuts have to be hard? Clearly they have never made canned biscuit doughnuts. My granny used to make these with us all the time: cut a hole in the middle of each biscuit, plop them in some hot oil and slather them with some canned frosting. WAAAAAAY better than it sounds, trust me. But these maple bars take the cake – er…doughnut.

This recipe round up needs a shout out to my favorite summer salad. Literally the BEST salad of all time. I could eat this daily and be a happy camper. I like to pair mine with a fresh salty and buttery corn cob and call it lunch. I also trim my ingredient list when I’m in a hurry to spinach, blueberries, strawberries, feta, candied nuts and the dressing and it’s still just as good.

Think Chicken Tortilla Soup but thicker, richer and creamy. Super easy. Super tasty. Super mom approved. And that was super cheesy. Like this chili. 😉

White chocolate Reese’s? Huge fan right here. And when the holidays creep around you can bet your sweet bottom I load up on Reese’s trees, pumpkins and eggs so I have a stash on hand ALL YEAR ROUND. Because those are better than the regular Reese’s. No contest. But this cheesecake. Get your fat pants ready because you will be eating this out of the fridge at 2 in the morning and then trying to unload it on to your husbands’ coworkers, of whom one will eat three quarters of the half of the cheesecake you gave them. Yeah, it’s that kind of cheesecake.

My sister once tried to make gingerbread men from a box that claimed it could be a cake or a cookie mix and they were the most terrifying “cookies” I have ever seen in my life – so, no, I did not have high hopes for these cookies considering the base was a muffin mix. I have never been so wrong in my life. These are AMAZING. We made these Sunday night (yield 19) and there are five none left – disclosure: Elias has had none. ^^’

Made anything super yummy in quarantine? Let me know – I’m ALWAYS looking for new recipes!
